Our Journey
A Legacy of Impact and Change from our founding in 2019 to our continued efforts today

Care Best Initiative was founded in November 2019 by a dedicated team of (insert number), driven by the urgent need to address the rising incidents of sexual assault and the necessity for awareness in this domain. The inaugural project, "Stand Against Rape: Say No to Violence and Silence (GBV)," impacted over 500 youths and adults in Northeast Nigeria, offering both awareness campaigns and medical assistance to survivors of rape.

Responding to the dire conditions faced by crisis victims in various IDP camps in Borno state, CBI expanded its services in 2020 with the NUTRITION project. Operating primarily in El-Miskin Transit IDP Camp, the initiative provided integrated Preventive and Curative Nutrition Services, reaching over 25,000 individuals across several local governments in Borno State. Amidst the post-insurgency and COVID-19 recovery period, CBI spearheaded numerous initiatives, including General Food Distribution, COVID-19 Prevention and Response, and the distribution of GBV Dignity kits among IDPs.

With societal needs escalating, 2021 marked a significant expansion of our efforts, reaching over 100,000 individuals through partnerships with various organizations. Collaborating with the WASH Sector of Nigeria, CBI launched the Cholera Prevention and Response project in Borno State, alongside providing Basic and Maternal Health and Nutrition Services in partnership with UNICEF. Additionally, in collaboration with Unilever, CBI distributed Hygiene Kits to over 20,000 Households in IDP Camps within Borno State.

In 2022, CBI extended its impact to over 150,000 individuals across multiple Northern states in Nigeria. Various projects included Basic and Maternal Health and Nutrition Services, Hygiene Promotion, Social Cohesion, Economic Empowerment, and Reintegration initiatives. Partnerships with UNICEF, EU/British Council, and UN-OCHA Nigeria Humanitarian Fund enabled CBI to address acute malnutrition, provide emergency WASH services, and enhance primary healthcare services in conflict-affected areas.

Continuing our commitment to humanitarian aid, CBI partnered with UNICEF/Solidarites International to deliver life-saving WASH assistance to individuals affected by acute crises in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States. Collaborations with organizations like ZOA International and Nigeria Women Trust Fund facilitated the provision of education for out-of-school children, prevention of GBV, and awareness campaigns against child trafficking.
